How do I share my fundraising page on Facebook?

Click on the “Share” icon on your personal fundraising page. This will add a link to your page within your News Feed. Make sure you update this often as your News Feed grows and this item moves out of sight.

Are donations made through my fundraising page secure?

The donation process is encrypted, so your credit card details are safe. HSI Canada does not share your information. Please refer to our privacy policy for more info.

Why do you require my email address to make a donation?

Your email address is required to generate the “thank you” email—we do not share your email address with other organizations. Please refer to our privacy policy for more info.

What happens if I don’t reach my fundraising goal?

If you don’t reach your goal, your donations still go towards a great cause—our Stop Trophy Hunting campaign.

What happens if I exceed my fundraising goal?

Congratulations! Have you considered increasing your goal on your fundraising page? Login and click on the fundraising tab along the top of the page. Then click on “Edit My Goal” and set a new one for yourself. Don’t forget—the top fundraiser will win one of many amazing prizes! Be sure to let your friends and family know that you have increased your goal.

Why don’t I have a thermometer on my personal page? / How can I remove my thermometer?

In your personal page settings, you have an option to “Set a Goal.” If you set the goal to “0,” your page will not have a thermometer. In order to enable your thermometer or pie chart, you should choose an amount for your fundraising goal. Login to your fundraising page. Once you have done so, click on “Edit Goal” under the Fundraising tab.

Can I send donations using regular mail?

Unfortunately not. Please ask your supporters to make a donation through your personal page.

How do donors obtain their tax receipts?

Donations to HSI Canada are not tax-deductible. Non-profit organizations in Canada which lobby to change government policy are generally denied charitable status.
